Downtown Long Beach for the Night

Downtown is always bustling with things to do -- but things really come alive in the evening.

The restaurants on Pine Avenue are amazing and often have events so that you can have dinner-and-a-show or get a great deal.

Check out Alegria Cocina Latina and Sevilla for Flamenco and Salsa performances and lessons accompanied by your favorite tapas.

George's Greek Cafe is right next door and has great weeknight specials like 1/2 off Bottle of Wine.

After you eat, you might want to take in a show -- the Garage Theatre is known for their well-staged takes on classic and contemporary works. The Found Theatre, a few blocks away is also a bustling theatre. Other theatres include the Center Theatre, Laugh Factory and the All American Melodrama.

When you're getting thirsty, there are plenty of places to whet your whistle downtown. The Auld Dubliner at the Pike is a popular Irish bar with lots of live music while Sgt. Pepper's, next door, is a duelling piano bar.

The Cellar and Basement Lounge are both underground (both literally and figuratively) and are the home to cool events like the Long Beach Experiment.

The East Village Arts District has House of Hayden and District Wine Bar which are both great to visit during the monthly 2nd Saturday Artwalk or after the Museum of Latin American Art's En La Noche.
