The Queen Mary's 18th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting
In honor of Pearl Harbor Day, The Queen Mary’s 18th Annual Christmas Tree-lighting will pay tribute to local military, fire and police heroes.
Long Beach Police Chief Jim McDonnell and Long Beach Fire Chief Alan Patalano along with Santa will cue the lights at 7:15 p.m.
This family-friendly Long Beach tradition is free to attend. Along with complimentary refreshments and parking, guests will enjoy seasonal songs from roaming Victorian carolers and a preview of the ship's new holiday light display. Additional sounds of the season will be provided by two choirs and attendees can stroll the decks to enjoy the beauty and history of the Queen Mary.
Santa will arrive about 7:00 pm, and with the help of Long Beach Police Chief Jim McDonnell and Long Beach Fire Chief Alan Patalano, will light the holiday tree located on the Sundeck stage at the stern of the ship.
Parents are encouraged to bring a camera as children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa following the last musical performance.
All attendees are encouraged to drop off one unwrapped children's gift to support Toys for Tots, Sparks of Love and the Long Beach Toy Patrol, but toy donations are requested, not mandatory.
