Community Cinema at the Main Library
Community Cinema is a free monthly film program that uses the power of film to inspire debate on important social issues. The next featured film, scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, at 6:00 p.m., is We Still Live Here - Âs Nutayuneân by Anne Makepeace.
The Wampanoag saved the Pilgrims from starvation, and lived to regret it. On Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard, linguist Jane Little Doe is reviving the Wampanoag language more than a century after the last native speaker died.
Sponsored by ITVS Community Cinema, Long Beach Central Area Association/MusicUNTOLD, and the Long Beach Public Library, the screenings will be held in the Main Library auditorium at 6:00 pm on the last Tuesday of each month. Each Community Cinema screening will be followed by panel discussion.
Admission is free.
